Orangerie - Stadtbibliothek

The orangery was built in 1780 by the then prince abbot Honorius Roth von Schreckenstein as the end of the court garden. In fact, citrus fruits were also grown in the orangery in the past. These and carp from the then artificially created fish ponds in the court garden provided food for the court kitchen. Today, the Orangery is home to Kempten's municipal library - over 130,000 media of all kinds in many languages and on a wide variety of topics are available to visitors here.
